I have somewhere to live!!
Woah, that looks nice! I always loved the idea of living on the campus. In Germany you have to find a room for yourself, there is no such thing as student dorms. NO, not exactly, there is such thing but first they are all outside the campus or a bit away in the town you want to study. And second they are buildings which have more than 10 floors, each with a small student room...mostly build in the 70ties, so not as nice as your student home!
I had a small flat, 20qm, one big room with a small integrated kitchen, a balcony and a loo...but it wasn't in a students home, it was private. I loved my little room....!
But this is good: unlimited internet access icluded in the rent! So we won't be without your stories!

When I was at Bath Spa Uni, I had to live in a Student House in the city centre. It was alright and everything, but we were so far away from the Uni and all the social side of what was going on, it just made me feel so excluded from it all :(. I knew that this time I NEEDED to be living on campus!
I'm so happy I got my first choice, I was worried that I may not get anywhere because I gave in my housing application so late! I'm quite amazed I got it actually!
I would love to have my own little private space, on my own with no one else, but I know that for this first year, I need to be in the thick of it. Due to worrisome shy and self-confidence issues! Once i've settled, got some friends and know what's going on, then I can possibly look into something on my own for the second year...although, I do have my extra two years studying in Bath after this...why is this taking so long!? XD

In Frieburg where my cousin is studying, there are totally nice student dorms, right on campus....
Congrats! :) That place sounds really nice! You're lucky that you got into a place like that your first year. I don't know about U.K. schools, but most colleges in the U.S. have crappy, tiny, shared dorm rooms for freshmen (12ft by 12ft average) with the standard public restroom/shower and maybe a shared kitchen. The college I attended had slightly larger rooms and private bathrooms, but it was still shared bedroom and public kitchen. I guess I don't mind shared kitchens/bathrooms that much, but I need a private bedroom.
Hopefully you'll have the mature students there (e.g. no loud parties every night!), and it's also nice that it's right on campus. The building is really cute, too! And I also like the unlimited access included in the rent. ;) I had that in college, too, and boy did I ever take advantage...
Not sure if I told you, but congrats on getting into university! :) (I've been away for a while; getting settled and everything.) I forgot what you're studying, though.

Thank you!
The bedrooms are usually small (like box rooms) and you have to share bathrooms and kitchen spaces. It is good that we don't have to share bedrooms, because I don't know if I could do that; actually live with someone in such a close/small space that i've never met before!
Haha! Yeah, there shouldn't be any loud parties if there are some 18 yr olds, it's a designated quiet halls, there's a curfew and everything...hopefully if there are younger students, they'll be at least sensible.
Thanks again ^^! I'm doing history for two years at Winchester and then I'm going to apply for a Heritage Management course at Bath College (another 2 yrs!). I'm planning on conserving my country's heritage! *beams proudly* (Yeah, or get the custodian job at Mendips with the National Trust! :D!)

I know this is random, and I hate to bug you on your own eljay. BUT! How close are you to Edge Hill Uni in Ormskirk?
According to google maps, I'm 3hrs and 44mins away...
Edge Hill Uni's in Lancaster (again, according to google maps), which is North West isn't it? Winchester is in the south.
Now I ask, why does one want to know this ^^?

It is Northwest, it's about a half an hour from Liverpool.
I wanted to know because I may be doing a study abroad program from my own University to Edge Hill next Fall. So I was curious.
